A 42 year old Rome resident arrested in Chattooga County for armed robbery, is now facing additional charges.

James Taylor Carmichael had been arrested at the Carousel Inn in Trion – where a search of the room resulted in items being found that the authorities feel may be connected to armed robberies in Chattooga, Floyd, Whitfield and Walker counties.

Carmichael has been charged with the January 25th robbery at the Garden Lakes Food Mart and he has now been charged with the armed robbery at A-1 Food & Beverage, taking place just four days later. In addition to robbery he's been charged with Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Crime, and Wearing a Mask or Hood which Conceals the Identity of the Wearer.

Carmichael is currently being held without bond.
