A Rossville man was arrested on drug and DUI charges in Ft Oglethorpe, after being pulled over for driving through town with his high beam lights on.

Jason Andrew Pounders, age 28, of a Reece Street address, was arrested on the charges of DUI/drugs, possession of marijuana, failure to dim headlights, and defective equipment; the incident occurred around 1:20am, when he was observed driving along Cloud Springs Road and Edgewood Circle with his lights on "bright"

According to police, Pounders finally pulled over into the driveway at a house, pretending it was someone he knew.  Pounders allegedly refused officer’s requests for him to get out of the vehicle and had to be physically removed from the car.

A marijuana-smoking pipe was found in the floorboard and a bag of marijuana was found in his left jacket pocket.  After initially claiming he pulled into the driveway to visit a friend, he eventually admitted that he had no idea who lived at the location and had pulled in because officers were behind him.

After placing Pounders under arrest and a search of the vehicle was conducted, two more small bags containing marijuana were found.
