No one was hurt when a truck, containing garbage, overturned on Highway 53 Monday afternoon.
According to Trooper First Class Justin Henderson, the GMC Sonoma and a Buick were both traveling south near Berwin Road.
“The gold Buick failed to maintain her lane, came over a struck the left rear of the red GMC pickup truck,” he said. “At that time, the impact caused the pickup to turn sideways. He began to overturn in the roadway before coming to rest on its top.”
The driver of the truck, 87-year old Sam Tyler was able to speak with a reporter at the scene.
“I was just going down the road,” he said. “That car hit and turned me bottom side up. That’s all I know to tell you.”
Our reporter noticed that Tyler has something in his hand and asked him about it.
“My Bible,” he said. “I’ve had that a long time and I had it in my truck. So, I just got my Bible and got out.”
Once again, neither Tyler nor the driver of the Buick was injured.
