Trion Mayor Larry Stansell says that his town is serious about increasing housing opportunities for families in the area.  Recently, Habitat for Humanity finished a home on Chestnut Street in Trion and a family is moving into that home.  Today, the Habitat Home will be on display for the community to see.

Mayor Stansell said that a shuttle bus will be running from Trion First Baptist Church to the Habitat Home and the family that is moving into the home will be on hand.  Also, there will be free Cokes and hotdogs and plenty of information.  Stansell told AM 1180 that there will be a lot of information for people who are interested in becoming a homeowner.  The Town of Trion received a grant to restore some homes in Trion and Stansell said more restorations are on the way.

The Town of Trion Housing Committee is holding the Housing Fair to help educate potential homeowners on how they can live the American dream of owning their own home.  Lenders will be on hand to discuss financing options as well.  Mayor Stansell said that the Town of Trion will be holding several more Housing Fairs in the upcoming months.
