A two-vehicle accident on Martha Berry Highway in Rome Monday evening resulted in both drivers’ being injured.

According to Trooper Jerry Battle a 2007 Acura MDX driven by 37 year old Stephanie Sharp of Rome attempting to turn left onto Ashley Oaks Trail pulled into the path of a southbound 2003 Chevy pickup driven by 37 year old John Barnett, also of Rome.

The impact caused the pickup to lose a wheel and end up in the ditch in front of Pasquale's.

Both drivers were taken to Floyd Medical Center by Redmond EMS to be checked out.

That wreck occurred just before 8:00pm.
