AM1180's Kellie Holbrook attended the Town of Trion CDBG Ground Breaking event at 205 10th street in Trion on Thursday.

She spoke with the homeowner, Mr. Crowe – and he says that he’s extremely excited about the new home that is to be erected on the property.

Mr. Eddy Willingham with the Town of Trion stated that "the home sustained damage a few years back from a structure fire, but was still so well built that it still took some effort to get the structure to the ground.  The home is estimated to be over 100 years old and was one of the original mill houses that was built and owned by Mount Vernon Mills."  Construction of the new home is being bid out to a qualified contractor with announcements being made in the not-too-distant future.

To qualify as a contractor contact Willingham at the Town of Trion for the necessary forms to be completed.

BJ Gambill with B&J Construction is in charge of the demolition of the current site.
