A 74-year-old Summerville woman is charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian after she allegedly struck a woman with her vehicle on Tuesday morning.
According to Lt. John Walters with the Rome Police Department, Alice May Cox was attempting to turn left from Second Avenue on Broad Street when she struck a woman.
Cox did not stop to see if the woman was hurt. Police stopped Cox near on Martha Berry Highway near Mount Berry Square Mall. Walters said she told police she did not know the woman was hurt.
The woman's injuries did not appear to be serious.
