GEORGIA NORTHWESTERN TECHNICAL COLLEGE
High School Appreciation Luncheon and Information Program
Date: Tuesday, March 22, at 11:30 a.m.
Location: The Conference Center on GNTC’s Gordon County Campus, Calhoun, Ga.
On Tuesday, March 22, Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) will hold a High School Appreciation Luncheon and Information Program at the Conference Center on the Gordon County Campus in Calhoun.
The program is intended to show gratitude to the faculty and staff from area High Schools. During the program, information will be provided about various high school initiatives, dual enrollment courses, and educational partnerships in GNTC’s nine county service area.
Dual enrollment provides high school students with the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school. While dual enrollment has been possible in the State of Georgia since 2009, major changes were made in July of 2015 with the introduction of the Move On When Ready (MOWR) dual enrollment program that expanded opportunities for students.
For the third consecutive year, Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) has the largest number of dual enrollment students out of all of the technical colleges in the state of Georgia according to the “High School Collaborative Enrollment: Academic Year 2016” report issued by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG).
Georgia Northwestern Technical College provides quality workforce education to the citizens of Northwest Georgia. Students have the opportunity to earn an associate degree, diploma, or a certificate in business, health, industrial, or public service career paths. This past year, 13,734 people benefited from GNTC’s credit and noncredit programs. With an annual credit enrollment of 7,876 students, GNTC is the largest college in Northwest Georgia. GNTC has an additional enrollment of 5,858 people through adult education, continuing education, business and industry training, and Georgia Quick Start.
