A 57 year old Flat Rock woman was killed by a bull last week, according to DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris.

Mamie Hubbard Bowen was unresponsive when deputies and DeKalb Ambulance Service officials arrived to the bullpen on County Road 805.

Harris said as officials attempted to reach the victim – a black bull came toward them in an aggressive manner. The bull was then removed from the area.

Sheriff Harris said Coroner Tom Wilson, the Agricultural and Rural Crimes Unit and District Attorney’s Office assisted on the call.
