A Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was dispatched to a home on McMillan Street in Summerville, in response to a report of theft.

The complainant told the officer that someone had entered the 2005 Grand Caravan owned by his father, and had taken about $80 in cash, along with some loose change and cigarettes – the man added that the doors to the vehicle were not locked and the windows were down

He also noticed that the door on an exterior building was open, but nothing appeared to be missing.  The complainant also mentioned recently seeing someone in the area, that he was unfamiliar with and requested additional patrols by law enforcement due to that fact.

The incident remains under investigation.
