There’s been a shocking new development in the case of that SUV which crashed into Weiss Lake at Leesburg Landing on Tuesday night, leaving four dead, two injured and one missing – presumed dead.

The two survivors, Kim Learned and Brittney Hobson, are now saying the driver intentionally drove into the water.

Hobson has stated to the media that the driver of the vehicle, Robert Hardin, did not heed warnings from others in the vehicle that he was headed towards the lake and kept driving, plunging the SUV into the water.  Both survivors indicated in interviews that they believe Hardin intentionally drove into the lake; however, no motive for the act has been given.

One man is still missing.  Recovery crews are still searching for Bobby Shore.

Hobson was the only person in the vehicle that was from Cherokee County, Alabama; the rest were from Jefferson County, Alabama.

Law enforcement in Cherokee County are still investigating the accident and trying to determine a motive for the incident.

The SUV was found in about eighteen feet of water in Weiss Lake near Leesburg.
