The four new speed bumps on Central Ave in Trion last week were apparently not meant to be. All four were removed yesterday morning, The Summerville News reports, after multiple members of the Trion town council received “numerous complaints” about the new traffic calming devices.
Apparently, Trion mayor Larry Stansell made the decision to have the devices installed without the council’s input, without approval from the Trion Town Council. Stansell told the newspaper that he decided to have the devices installed at the suggestions of Police Chief Jason Kellett and Trion school officials who said they were concerned about safety in the area.
