According to reports release from the Summerville Police Department, city resident Neil Thurmond reported financial and identity fraud to the SPD yesterday, October 16th.

Mr. Thurmond told an officer with the SPD that between April 1st, 2016 and the day of the report, his identity was used to make five purchases from Harbin Clinic, totaling approximately $800, and one transaction from Verizon in an amount unknown to Thurmond.

Thurmond’s case is under investigation by the Summerville Police Dept.

In an unrelated incident, city resident Ciara Stewart called 9-1-1 when her landlord, who is also her aunt, allegedly kicked her out last Saturday evening, even though Stewart was up on her rent.

Stewart told the reporting SPD officer Sunday that her aunt had called her, told her she owed her money, and told her to “get her stuff out”. Stewart said that even though she had paid her $300 rent on the first of the month, she returned home to find that her aunt had thrown her belongings onto the lawn of the Y St. property.

Stewart was advised to take up the issue in magistrate court.
