A woman’s vehicle went airborne Saturday night after she drove over a deer carcass lying on Highway 27 near Silver Hill Road.

Misty Bowling told a responding sheriff’s deputy that she was traveling southbound on Hwy. 27 when she hit the deer, but when her Saturn Ion ultimately came to a rest, she was facing north from the grassy bank off the road.

Bowling’s vehicle only sustained minor damage to the radiator and to the front of the car. Reports do not indicated that Bowling was injured. The vehicle was towed by Luallen’s.
