A Trion man was arrested this week after his grandmother called law enforcement and said that her grandson had stolen his dad’s scooter.

On Sunday, a deputy responded to a call from Mildred Lewis on Pinedale Drive in Trion, who said that her grandson, identified as thirty-two-year-old Anthony Lee Lewis had taken his father’s scooter without permission.

Ms. Lewis said that her toolbox and her son Mark Lewis’ 49cc scooter were both missing from under her carport. She added that she had seen both at her grandson’s residence.

The deputy went to Anthony Lewis Ridgeland Drive residence, where he admitted to taking the scooter without permission but denied any knowledge of the toolbox.

Lewis was placed under arrest for Theft by Taking and transported to the Chattooga County Jail.
