A Trion man called 9-1-1 Saturday after his landlady allegedly instigated a fight between their two dogs.

Around 7:30 PM, Mountain View Road resident and complainant Donald Martin told a responding county deputy that he is in the process of changing residences. Just before the deputy arrived, he said, he was loading his U-haul when his landlady Evie Dechant and her husband Lawrence called one of Martin’s dogs to come inside their fence.

The Dechants then allegedly shut the fence and let their dog out of the their house to attack Martin’s dog.

According to the deputy’s report, “Martin stated that his dog had suffered injuries and needed to go to the vet. I did observe that his dog was injured.”

Martin claimed that Mrs. Dechant has sent him several threatening text messages and that he believes that she may have stolen some items of his that have gone missing while moving out. 

Martin was advised procedures for taking the issue up in magistrate court.
