Menlo’s municipal government held a brief monthly meeting in city hall last night, tackling one internal items of business, two perennial items, and one roads matter.

First, the council voted to keep the registration fee for the 2019 election unchanged from 2018, at $9.00.

Then, councilpersons voted to have a security light installed at the building being renovated as the future city hall (i.e., the old bank building on the corner of Highways 48 and 337 and Graham Street).

Thirdly, it was decided that business license registration fees will remain the same going into to next year.

Lastly, a discussion was held of creating a three-way stop at Enterprise Street, which is across from Menlo School. No formal action was taken, but city clerk Tim Day says it appears that for the time being, the council has reneged on its plan to make Enterprise a one-way street. To reiterate, no formal action was taken, and the one-way plan still technically stands.
