Summerville resident Linda Lawrence told a city police officer that her application for government assistance was misplaced by state workers with the  Georgia’s Economic Opportunity Authority in Chattooga County.

Police reports indicate that Lawrence said she dropped off her application, a copy of her driver’s license, and a copy of her social security card at the agency’s local office. Lawrence said that she was notified her paperwork had been misplaced on December 14th.

Lawrence is recorded in reports as being afraid that her identity could be compromised as a consequence of the oversight.
