The Chattooga County Senior Center has announced that they will be closing until the end of March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Homebound seniors will continue to receive meals delivered to their homes. Workers at the Senior Center will check on seniors daily, and if you have questions you can call the Senior Center at 706-857-5001 or call Jovan Hickman at 706-331-1974.  The following statement was released on Friday:

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and to take the necessary precautions, We have decided to close the Chattooga County Senior Center after today (March 16th-30th) for all congregant members but we will still deliver homebound meals daily.

I will be in contact with all Cong Members soon to check on you and if you WANT to have your meals delivered at home, you have that option if we can work your address in the Homebound Route for the drivers.

I will be in contact with the ones who have already signed the sheet for the SSM boxes and you will need to come get them ASAP. You will also be getting a letter in the mail regarding this matter.

We the workers will still be at the Center working on all this and getting in touch with you to check on you daily; so if you have any questions or concerns PLEASE do not hesitate to call the center at 706-857-5001 or my cell #- 706-331-1974.

Please everyone stay in if you don’t have to get out and wash your hands and stay safe and healthy! We will see y’all soon hopefully after the 30th. If you get sick PLEASE tell us so we will know.

We love all of you and this too shall pass
