Throughout the weekend, living history volunteers representing the 37th Georgia Infantry will conduct infantry demonstrations at the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center.
Living historians will speak about the life of the soldier Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
They will also conduct rifle firing demonstrations at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4 p.m. on Saturday and at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Visitors will get a taste of what life was like on a day-to-day basis for the Civil War soldier.

37th Regiment’s history
In the Battle of Chickamauga, September 19 and 20, 1863, the 37th Georgia Regiment, part of Bate’s Brigade commanded by William B. Bate, was heavily engaged and suffered a 50 percent casualty rate. The regiment went on to fight at Missionary Ridge on November 25, 1863. They also participated in the Atlanta campaign and the Battles of Franklin and of Nashville in 1864
