A Chattogoa County woman reported to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office that she had been taken advantage of on a dating app – and now she is receiving threats.

The woman told an investigator with the sheriff’s office that she had been using the social dating app and had been talking with someone with the username of “daddymoore”.  The woman said that the man paid a thousand dollars to pay off her visa credit card.  Then he asked her to purchase $400 worth of gaming cards – which the woman did.

Shortly after that, United Community Bank notified the subject that she had a fraudulent attempt on her bank account and that the bank had closed her account.

The subject told the investigator that now she is receiving threats saying that they know where she lives and “would hate for anything to happen to her if they didn’t receive the money back.”

The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department is continuing the investigation into the incident.
