Summerville Police were called to a Lewis Street residence after a complaint about a theft.  The complainant identified a suspect to the police and said that he had stolen a lawn ornament and red grill from her yard.

The complainant said that lawn ornament was in the shape of a dragon and the grill was a red, Kamado Joe Grill.  She said that she had contacted the alleged offender and demanded that the items be returned.  A few days later, the dragon-shaped lawn ornament was returned along with a red grill – but not the red, Kamado Joe Grill that had been stolen.

Police spoke with Magistrate Judge Tracy Maddux who said that the complainant should come in after May 15th to file a civil suit against the alleged offender.

The Magistrate’s office will be reopening after May 15th.
