United Grocery Outlet has closed their doors temporarily after an employee at Chattooga County’s newest grocery store tested positive for COVID-19.
A notice was posted on the door of the building that formerly housed Save-A-Lot saying that the management has decided to close the store temporarily. The Summerville location is closed, “to ensure that we maintain the CDC Environmental cleaning and disinfection recommendations.
The statement goes on to say that the store will close the location while they sanitize the facility and equipment.
The store says that they plan to be close for 24-72 hours during the cleaning. Employees believed to have been exposed have been asked to go into quarantine for the mandated period recommended by the CDC.
The store says that they are taking every precaution to protect and serve their customers, employees and suppliers.
