Summerville Police were summoned to the scene of a bicycle vs. car accident on Northwest Congress Street on Saturday shortly after 8 PM.

Police say that Daniel Mosteller was driving his 2007 GMC Yukon when a bicycle rider came off the sidewalk area and struck the Yukon in the right front tire.  Police say that there was no way for Mosteller to avoid the accident.

Police say that the bicycle was being ridden by Jimmy Peoples, who was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

Mosteller was not injured but Peoples was transported by Redmond EMS to Floyd Medical Center with minor injures.
