A forty-seven-year-old Lick Skillet Road, Summerville man was arrested this week after he was accused of trespassing and harassing a Trion resident.

According to a report released by the sheriff’s office, the incident happened on Monday morning after a Reed Street, Trion woman reported that Billy Joe Stephenson had been at her house banging on the windows.  The woman said that Stephenson left before deputies arrived.

While a deputy was talking with the complainant, another deputy stopped the suspect near Allgood Street.

While speaking with the suspect, deputies noticed that he appeared nervous with his hands trembling.  Deputy’s discovered that Stephenson was on probation for drug charges.  After a search of the suspect’s vehicle, deputies found a baggie that they believed contained crystal methamphetamine.

Officers also found other drug paraphernalia in Stephenson’s truck.

Stephenson was arrested on drug possession charges and taken to the Chattooga County Jail.
