The Summerville City Council will hold its regular monthly city council meeting coming up this afternoon.  The meeting will be held online, and the public is invited to comment before the meetings starts.  The public input portion of the meeting will begin at 4:30 this afternoon, with the meeting to start at 5 PM.

This council is expected to award a $111,700 bid to Exceller Construction for the walking trail pedestrian bridge.  The city was awarded an ARC grant for the project.

Also, council members will be approving changes regarding the municipal election.  The election, that was originally supposed to take place in March, will be held at the same time as the Primary election in June.  Council members are expected to approve reprinting of the ballots to reflect the proper date, and to approve election staff for the municipal election.  The election will be held on June 9th.

The council will also be approving some bills with the ongoing water issue.  The city owes the Chattooga County Water District $15,983.42 for water supplied by the county to a portion of city water customers.  Also, the city owes the Town of Trion, $14,182.51 for water supplied to Hays State Prison.  In addition to the bills regarding the water issue, the city owes Parker Systems $25,000 for rock boring on Highway 100.  That work for a gas line that was repaired near the Chattooga River Bridge.
