Early voting begins today in Georgia.  Here in Chattooga County, early voting will take place at the Chattooga County Registrar Office – located just south of the Chattooga County Courthouse in the old McGinnis Drug Store building.

Chattooga County has 14,164 registered voters.  The Chattooga County Registrar Office says that hundreds of people have already received their absentee ballots for the June 9th Primary.  You can request an absentee ballot up until June 5th.  Ballots must be received by the Chattooga County Registrar Office by June 9th at 7 PM.

During early voting, individuals who have not already cast a ballot in the Presidential Preference Primary who select either a Democratic or a Republican ballot will also receive the Presidential Preference Primary on the ballot. Individuals who already cast a ballot in the Presidential Preference Primary will only receive a ballot for the General Primary.

If you choose to vote early, you will need to bring a picture ID to vote.  All early voting takes place at the Registrar Office – there will be no early voting at local precincts.
