Due to Governor Kemp’s latest Executive Order update as of June 11, 2020, Chattooga High School is once again forced to change direction in regards to hosting a traditional graduation ceremony.
Although some guidelines have been relaxed, “gatherings of more than fifty people are banned unless there is at least six feet between each person.”
Chattooga High School Principal Emily Mobbs says, “At this time, it is impossible to host this event and ensure we are operating within the mandated guidelines, therefore we are postponing the graduation ceremony planned for June 19th. We are disappointed we are once again having to adjust our plans to celebrate our graduates. However, we had a wonderful time at our Senior Celebration Days and will have a virtual program ready to broadcast very soon.
We realize the summer months are upon us and our seniors are anxious to embark upon their plans of college, work, military assignments, etc. In our best efforts to gain an understanding of what our students want, we are asking our graduates to participate in a survey. We will use the information obtained from this survey to make decisions about moving forward. The survey will be made available next week.”
