On Sunday, a deputy was dispatched to Lakeside Lane in Summerville after the report of a mailbox that had been damaged.

When the deputy arrived on the scene he spoke with the complainant who said that he had been out of town and when he returned he found that his “mailbox was destroyed by way of multiple gunshots.”

This isn’t the first time the complainant has had his mailbox shot up.  He told the deputy the same thing happened about three months ago but he didn’t report that incident.

The complainant said that he didn’t have any ongoing disputes with any neighbors and didn’t know why anyone would be destroying his mailboxes.

The incident is under investigation.
