The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) announced in a statement Friday the board of trustees will convene to discuss concerns of opening of fall sports this coming Monday at 1 PM at GHSA’s head office in Thomaston.

As of now, the first date of mandatory football practice is scheduled for Monday, July 27, and all other fall sports is Saturday, August 1st.

Starting tomorrow, football practice can include helmets.  On Wednesday of last week, the GHSA released the following statement:

“The GHSA has elected to implement the use of football helmets only with the following stipulations: 1) football players may be issued a football helmet to begin using on July 20th and 2) schools must sanitize the helmet before and after each workout. All previously distributed correspondence is still in place until further notice, especially no use of locker rooms.”
