Advanced voting for the August 11th Republican Primary Runoff election starts today at the Chattooga County Registrars Office.
Chattooga County voters will be determining the Republican candidate for commissioner and probate judge. Blake Elsberry received the most votes in the Republican Primary in June with incumbent Commissioner Jason Winters coming in second by just two votes. The winner of that race will go on to face Jimmy Holbrook, the Democratic nominee for commissioner, in the General Election. In the probate judge race, voters will choose between Gary Woods and Teresa Pope. The winner of that race will face off against Independent Holley Strawn-Gilliland in November.
Advance voting will continue today through Friday, August 7th. Those who did not vote in the June 9th Primary are eligible to vote along with anyone who voted in the Republican Primary. Voting will take place Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM until 5 PM.
There will be Saturday voting on August 1st, also at the Registrars Office. Saturday voting hours will be from 9 AM until 4 PM.
The Chattooga County Registrar Office is located at 10017 Commerce Street in downtown Summerville. The building is located just south of the Chattooga County Courthouse and is the former McGinnis Drug Store Building.
