Georgia Power Outage Map As Of 4:30 AM – Wednesday, July 22, 2020
Several hundred people are still without power at Cloudland after strong storms moved through the area on Tuesday evening. Straight-line wind gusts over 60 miles-per-hour were reported as heavy rain, wind and hail were reported. A large portion of the county received the heavy rain, thunder and lightning, but it appears that the Lookout Mountain area had several trees down and some minor damage is being reported.
Chattooga County Public Works was working late into the night clearing downed trees from Gilreath Mill Road and State Line Road on Tuesday. Georgia Power had estimated that the power would be back on by 10 PM at Cloudland, but as of Wednesday morning 662 Georgia Power customers were still without power.
The power outage stretches from the Cherokee County, Alabama line all the way into Walker County.
