According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, a man with a Lindale, Georgia was stopped by an officer on patrol and subsequently arrested for driving without a valid drivers license after he presented a drivers license from Uganda to the officer.
The deputy says that he observed a Volkswagen Jetta with a Florida tag drive over the fog line several times. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver who was identified as , Yogesh Kantibhai Patel. Mr. Patel gave a Maple Road, Lindale address to the officer and then presented the license from Uganda along with an international drivers card. The officer ran Mr. Patel’s information through Chattooga 911 but no identifying information was returned on Mr. Patel.
When asked why he had crossed over the fog line several times, Mr. Patel reportedly told the deputy that he was nervous when he saw the police vehicle behind him.
Patel was charged with driving without a valid license and failure to maintain a single lane and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
