Chattooga County Magistrate Judge Tracy Maddux has tested positive COVID-19 and released the following statement:

I have been notified that I am positive for covid 19. I know some who have posted their results have been CRITICIZED, but still I post this because I feel it is the proper thing to do as I am around a lot of people each day. I AM ASYMPTOMATIC at this time and the only person I have been in contact with that is a confirmed positive was 10 days ago.
I suggest that anyone needing a test do so at the urgent care or your PCP as the results are faster. Mine was less than 48hrs. Nothing against our health department as they do a great job but once it leaves the facility they have no control over it.
The Magistrate Court will be closed through Monday and city court is cancelled for Tuesday night.
