LaFayette Police made an arrest after investigating a report of a woman asleep at the wheel of a car with a small child in the back.

Officers responded to the Circle K convenience store on West Main Street in LaFayette late on Tuesday night of this week.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found forty-three-year-old Wanda Ann Greene of Trion asleep, with her head against the steering wheel.  A small child was in the back seat of the vehicle and officers observed four open cans of beer in the floorboard on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Police called family members to retrieve the small child and placed Greene under arrest.  She was charged with  violating conditions of her limited driving permit and open containers of alcohol.
