A twenty-six-year-old Rome man remains in the Floyd County Jail, accused in a string of robberies dating back to December of 2019 across multiple jurisdictions in Northwest Georgia.
Anthony Lavell Williams was arrested at his home on Ross Street in Rome on July 22 by several cooperating law enforcement agencies, including Rome Police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The FBI and GBI believe that Williams has robbed at least nine stores in Floyd County alone, and they say that he fits the description of the robber in incidents in other jurisdictions, including the CVS Pharmacy robbery in Summerville earlier this year.
Additional charges against Williams are expected as investigations continue across Northwest Georgia.
