The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that took the life of a Lyerly man earlier this week.  Here is the report from the Georgia State Patrol Post in Rome:

“On Aug. 9, at approximately 7:30 a.m., vehicle 1 (2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo) was traveling north on Old Holland Road. Vehicle 1 left the roadway, onto the east shoulder. The driver over corrected the wheel, causing vehicle 1 to rotate counter-clockwise. Vehicle 1 then traveled across the roadway, striking an embankment, and overturned, partially ejecting the driver, who sustained fatal injuries.”

Thirty-eight-year old Christopher N. Hines of Lyerly was fatally injured in the accident.

The Georgia State Patrol continues their investigation into the accident.
