Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters is rolling back the millage rate – but just slightly.  The commissioner says that the net revenue that will come into the county next year will be very close to what it was last year because the tax digest has increased.

Winters told WZQZ News on Thursday that the decision will put the county in good standing for 2021 as it will allow for basically the same tax collections as this year.  The county will see about $8,057 less in property tax collections next year compared to this year.

Winters says that the millage rate will be set at meeting sometime next month after public hearings have been held.
