A Summerville woman was arrested for shoplifting at Ingles Supermarket this week.

When responding officers arrived at Ingles, they saw the woman attempting to leave and stopped her before she got out of the parking lot.

Ingles employees said that Tina Michelle McCool and her friend were both pushing a buggy with items in them.  When the two got to the register, the clerk noticed items concealed in the pocketbook in one of the buggies.  The items in the pocketbook were valued at $27.65.

McCool told the officers that she had taken the items and the other woman had nothing to with it.

McCool was charged with a misdemeanor shoplifting charge.

Both women were subsequently banned from Ingles Supermarket in Summerville.
