After delaying the Celebrate Independence event for this year, and rescheduling the annual fireworks display to coincide with the Chattooga County Agricultural Fair, the Summerville City Council was faced with having to move the date for the fireworks display once again.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual Independence Day celebration was canceled in July.  The council had decided to have the fireworks show during the fair, which would have been held this month, but was also canceled due to COVID-19.

On Monday evening, at a called meeting, the Summerville City Council voted to have the fireworks display on Friday, September 11, 2020.

The event will be held at the Chattooga County Agricultural Building located off Highway 100 in Summerville.
