North Georgia EMC has resumed collections for outstanding balances, after several months of suspension due to COVID-19.

NGEMC says embers with an outstanding balance may be contacted by phone, text message, letter, and/or email from North Georgia EMC. If you receive communication related to your account, be sure to use one of our published phone numbers when responding or send them a message vie e-mail.

NGEMC says “Member Services Specialists will be contacting you directly to set up a deferred payment arrangement. You will not be asked to make a payment during any call initiated by our team, but they will make you aware of your payment options.”

NGEMC says disconnections for non-payment resumed on August 12.  If you have an outstanding balance, you should contact NGEMC as soon as possible to discuss payment options.

Please should also be vigilant if you do receive a call from anyone demanding payment or threatening you with disconnection. NGEMC has received several reports of scammers at work in our area over the last several weeks.
