Chattooga County School Superintendent Jared Hosmer has released a weekly COVID report for the Chattooga County School system.

In an interview with WZQZ’s Chattooga Indians Football announcer Barry Peppers, Supt. Hosmer said on Friday that Chattooga County teachers and staff have been dealing with these unprecedented times and have shown great resilience in their ability to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Supt. Hosmer said, “I just want to commend our teachers and staff for the way they have handled the current situation.”  Hosmer said that parent need to continue to communicate with the school system and make them aware of any situations concerning students.

Currently there are 3 students at Chattooga High School with COVID-19; Leroy Massey Elementary School is reporting no cases; Lyerly Elementary School has no cases, Menlo Elementary School is reporting no cases and Summerville Middle School is reporting one case.  The county office is reporting zero cases as well.
