An incident at the Chattooga County Jail last week led to additional charges for an inmate after he was accused of throwing feces and urine at law enforcement officers.

According to reports, the incident happened on Friday when a jail inmate told a jail officer that he was having suicidal thoughts.  The jail officer followed proper jail procedure for such instances and called for backup.  All on-duty deputies were busy so a Summerville Police Officer came to assist the jail officer.

While trying to follow jail procedure, the inmate allegedly defecated and urinated in a Styrofoam cup and then threw it at the officers.

The inmate was charged with obstruction of law enforcement officers.
