Piedmont Police Chief Freddie Norton confirmed Tuesday evening that a 19-year-old and two juveniles who are current Piedmont High School football players have been charged with third-degree assault after an incident happened to a teammate last year.
Bryson Gregg Ingram was booked in at the Calhoun County Detention Center on Monday charged with Assault 3rd Degree and was later released after posting a $3000 bond
According to Norton, the incident occurred in the Piedmont High School locker room, where the three who are charged forced a key into the victim’s anal region.
Calhoun County District Attorney Brian McVeigh said a grand jury will consider whether anyone will be charged with additional crimes, including sex crimes related to the incident.
School officials declined to comment on the alleged assault.
