A Cherokee County, Alabama woman lost her life in a single-vehicle accident early last Friday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of a single vehicle accident occurring on the East Bypass at Williams Street in Centre at around 5:30 Friday morning.  Twenty-eight-year-old Jessica Roden was a passenger in the vehicle and was transported to Floyd Cherokee Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead by Cherokee County Coroner Dr. Jeremy Deaton.

The body has been transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation by the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office and the Centre Police Department.
