According to statistics released by the Department of Public Health Monday, Chattooga County has the highest rate of new COVID-19 infections in the Northwest Georgia area.
Over the last two weeks, Chattooga has recorded 331 cases per 100,000 population.

Catoosa, Dade, Whitfield and Floyd counties all have a lower rate of new cases, compared with Chattooga.

Public health officials are still encouraging mask wearing and social distancing as the best ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
