Summerville Police recently conducted a traffic stop on Commerce Street near Bryant & Sons Lumber Company after they noticed a Ford passenger vehicle driving erratically.
When officers approached the driver they noticed that he had a mouth full of “Tic-Tac” mints and was smoking a cigar. Police quickly surmised that the driver was trying to cover the smell of alcohol on his breath.
Officers found empty liquor bottles and a Coke can with alcohol inside during the stop.
The driver also admitted to taking several medications, at one point telling the officers that he took “18 pills a day” and that he had “quit drinking” but he was “limited to 1 liter of alcohol per day.”
Ralph Clack was arrested and transported to the Chattooga County Jail on DUI charges.
