Tropical Storm Zeta left thousands across Northern Georgia without power and while most people had their power restored in a matter of hours, some people were without power throughout the weekend.

Reports from Georgia Power and North Georgia EMC indicated that at one point after the storm rolled through the area, 47,000 people were without electricity.  Local power companies enlisted help from neighboring states, and even further, to restore electricity to some parts of the county.

Georgia Power issued a statement on Friday saying, “The company expects power to be restored to 95% of customers impacted by Hurricane Zeta by Sunday night.”

As of Sunday evening, there were still some power outages being reported in Chattooga County, mostly on the western side of the county.
