The vote recount continues in some parts of Georgia after President Trump requested a recount last week.  This despite the fact that Governor Brian Kemp has already certified the election and Georgia’s electoral votes are committed to President-Elect Joe Biden.

Because there was less than one-half a percentage point difference between the Trump and Biden vote, the President had the right under law to request a recount – making it the third time that election officials counted ballots; once in the General Election, once in the state-mandated recount and this, the final recount.

In Chattooga County, election officials have completed the final recount and it didn’t change anything.  President Trump received 8,064 votes and President-Elect Joe Biden received 1854 votes from Chattooga County in all three counts.

Election officials in Chattooga County wrapped up their work on Wednesday.
