In a report release this week, for the current 14 day tracking, Chattooga County has moved from the yellow zone to the red zone in the Georgia Department of Public Health, Test Positivity Classification. For the period of November 12th-November 25th, Chattooga County rose to 11.4% positive cases with 536 new tests being performed in that time period. In the previous cycle Chattooga only had 9.0% positive cases with 543 test being performed.

If the amount of testing at Floyd Urgent Care in town is any indicator, it doesn’t look like we will be headed out of the red zone in the next 2 weeks. On Monday November 30th, Floyd Urgent Care saw over 100 people for testing of CoVid-19.

Floyd Urgent Care isn’t the only place to get a test, the Chattooga County Health Department is still available as well, though an appointment is necessary now. The testing is still free at the Health Department but it will be for symptomatic people only. Free, drive up testing is still available in Floyd and Walker counties.
